Barnyard Red Dresser

When we moved back to the states from Mexico, we didn't own a single piece of furniture.  A friend of my mom's was having a garage sale and sold us her bedroom set at a great price.  It's been 6 years since we purchased this dresser.  I absolutely love it.  It is beautiful.  The shape, the knobs, & the curves work together as perfect compliments.

One day, while browsing Home Depot, I found an "oops" quart of red paint.  It was only $2 and matched the boys' room decor beautifully.  I had to scoop it up!

It got a coat of primer that I had on hand from this project here.  It has a tint of light blue to it that peeps through the red nicely.  I painted two coats of red to give it a rich look, then lightly sanded it down with 150 grit sandpaper.

The tricycle was a treasure found at a local thrift store.

Here is the dresser's before shot:

And after:

It's going to look great in the boys' room.
